Sep 6, 2022 | 7:21 AM

Gas prices continue to fall as you head back to work after the long Labor Day Holiday weekend. Triple-A says the average cost for a gallon of regular no-lead gas in the Land of Lincoln is four-dollars-11 cents. That’s down a penny from yesterday and 34 cents cheaper than it was a month ago. Gas in the Kankakee area is down another penny to three-74 a gallon – still some 45 cents more expensive than we were paying a year ago at this time. In Iroquois County Triple-A says gas is averaging 3.73. It’s 4.03 in Ford County and 3.98 in Grundy County.

Across the border in Indiana, gas is averaging 3.81 in Newton County, 3.93 in Benton County and 4.02 in Jasper County. Gas 3.90 a gallon on average across the Hoosier State and three-dollars-77 cents a gallon nationally.
