Arrest made in 2021 murder

Bond has been set at two million dollars for a man charged with murder in the July 2021 shooting death of 15 year old Davarion Jones.  The Kankakee County State’s Attorney’s office says Jones was shot and killed while standing with a group of people in the 1100 block of East Merchant Street when Rivers approached from the alley and opened fire.  Rivers is currently being held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center on federal carjacking and robbery charges.
