A Paxton police officer has been given a letter of commendation for his work at developing an undercover sting operation that targets child sex offenders. The program was put together by Officer Trevor Norris and within two months of its operation they had arrested nine offenders. The sting involves Norris posing as a 14 or 15 year old girl online and then waiting until an adult solicits the child for sex. A meeting is then arranged and the suspect is arrested. The Paxton police department plans to begin working closely with the FBI soon which then would make offenders eligible for federal charges.
