Kankakee City Police arrest man allegedly trying to pass funny money

Kankakee City Police report the arrest of a man after he allegedly tried to pass some funny money at a local gas station. Reports say an officer working security at a gas station in the 100 block of West Court Street, was alerted by an employee about 2:30 Wednesday morning that a customer had come into the store and tried to buy cigarettes with a fake 100-dollar bill. The man, later identified as 33-year-old Duane A. Michael told police his girlfriend who was sitting in the car had given him the bill…a check of the girlfriend found her to be wanted on an outstanding warrant. City police arrested the pair.
