Crash takes life of 42-year-old Grant Park woman

Illinois State Police report a crash last night on Route 17 near Grant Park took the life of a 42-year-old Grant Park woman. According to reports, it was just before 5:30 last night when an eastbound car was passing another vehicle and  it hit another car head-on. The three of the four people in the second car were taken to the hospital for injuries. The fourth, identified by Kankakee County Coroner Bob Gessner as Janet VanHulst of Grant park was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.  The driver of the first car was uninjured. State police continue to look into the crash.
