Man shot in Kankakee

Kankakee City Police report a man was shot in the city over the weekend. According to reports, officers were called to a a local hospital just before one Sunday morning for a report of a man with a gunshot wound. Officers spoke to the victim who said he’d been at a Banquet Hall in the one-thousand-block of East Birch Street when he heard a gun go off and realized he’d been hit by the gunfire. The man said a relative drove him to the hospital for treatment. City Police are looking for anyone that may have witnessed the shooting.
