Routine traffic stop leads to drug arrest in Kankakee

Kankakee City police netted a drug arrest during a routine traffic stop Tuesday evening in the one hundred block of North Evergreen. Before officers pulled over the vehicle for not having a front bumper license plate, a male subject exited the car and discarded something near some trash cans and ran. When police caught up with the man and asked why he ran, he stated he believed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant. Officers searched near the garbage cans to find multiple individual plastic baggies containing a rock like substance. A field test of the substance turned up positive for cocaine. Forty three year old Jason L. Wilson is charged with Unlawful possession of a controlled substance with the intent to deliver.
