Second Arrest in Stairway Shooting

A Kankakee man was arrested Monday in connection with a shooting earlier this month that sent a man to the hospital with gunshot wounds.   23 year old Devalon R. Keys was allegedly involved in the shooting that occurred October 4th in the 100 block of N. Rosewood Ave.  According to police Keys and Ralph Esper allegedly got into a verbal confrontation which resulted in them shooting at one another in the staircase of the apartment building.  Keys is charged with Aggravated Battery with a Firearm and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Keys was arrested while he was at the Kankakee County Probation Department without incident.  Esper is also facing weapon charges.
