Jasper County Indiana Sheriff’s Police say they have one in custody after a man showed up at a truck stop in DeMotte Friday afternoon with a gunshot wound. Reports say it was just after noon Friday when Deputies got a call there was a man who had been a shooting victim at the Love’s Truck stop at I-65 and Route 10. Reports say it was determined the man had been shot at a nearby home and had gone to the truck stop to get help. Jasper County authorities say they believe 32-year-old David Sholes of DeMotte was responsible for the shooting, but weren’t able to locate either Sholes or the weapon at the time. Deputies say Sholes turned himself in to police Saturday afternoon. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
