Friday robbery in Kankakee

Employees restocking shelves at the South Washington Avenue Jewel store were surprised to hear the sound of breaking glass about 2 Friday morning.  It was the sound of a robbery taking place.  City police say employees went to investigate and were met by a man making his way through a broken window carrying a bag.  He then proceeded to fill the bag with three bottles of alcohol and two bottles of Coca Cola before leaving the scene.  Nobody was hurt and employees tell police they could not tell if the man was armed.
