Fake McCabe Scam Going Around

If you get a call from beloved, now retired Kankakee County Chief Deputy Ken McCabe, hang up on him.  It’s a scam. You’ll know it’s the fake McCabe because the caller has a thick southern accent. The real McCabe does not.  As far as the scam is concerned, it’s the same old story.  The fake McCabe tells you to send payment for an alleged warrant that has been issued in your name.  You’re reminded that the Kankakee County Sheriff’s office will never ask you for payment over the phone.  If you get a fake McCabe call, just hang up.
