Unemployment Drops in Kankakee County

Unemployment in Kankakee County Fell in October to 5.8 percent, that’s down from September’s 6.1 percent, but way up from the 4.8 percent of October 2022. The highest unemployment rate in the state is Rockford’s 6.1 percent. Bloomington has the lowest jobless rate in Illinois at 4.0.  Kankakee County lost some 500 jobs over the last 12 months.
