A man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested Tuesday morning in the 300 block of South Hillcrest Ave., when the vehicle he was riding in was pulled over for a traffic stop. Kankakee City Police report four people were in the car and as officers checked ID’s, 19 year old Jaylin James of Kankakee ran and then resisted police attempting to arrest him on the outstanding warrant. Police say they had to tase James twice to bring him under control and at one point James ripped the taser prongs out of his body as the struggle continued. It took several officers to finally bring James into custody. Police say a later search of James turned up a loaded semi-automatic 9mm pistol.
