After seven years at the helm, Kankakee Valley Park District Executive Director Dayna Heitz is stepping down. She notified the park district board on Monday of her decision, her last day on the job will be May 31st. She says health concerns and a desire to spend more time with family led her decision. Board President, Dave Skelly, tells the Daily Journal the board will seek an interim director in the coming weeks. Under Heitz leadership, the district was able to open a renovated Splash Valley Aquatic Park.
