No injuries reported in Kankakee fire

Kankakee City Fire is investigating a fire on the second floor of an abandoned building in the 300 block of West Station Street Monday afternoon. Fire Chief Brian LaRoche says the call came in about 2:30 Monday afternoon and the fire was contained to the second floor of the building. LaRoche adds while the cause is under investigation, it’s thought vagrants may have caused the blaze. Authorities add there were no injuries from the blaze which caused an estimated 15-thousand-dollars in damage to the property.
