You’ve heard it said “the need for blood never ends” and while that is true, the American Red Cross is sounding the alarm that supplies are running dangerously low. Mara Thompson is the Red Cross Communications Manager for the Illinois Region and she says there are a lot of reasons for the shortage
Thompson says there are a number of blood drives coming up in our area and says the best way to find location is to go to their website, Redcrossblood.org and put in the zip code. That will pull up all the blood drives in our area. She adds walk-ins are welcome so there’s no need to pre-register to give blood.
