Kankakee student carries gun to school

Kankakee City Police say they were called to Avis Huff School in the 300 block of South Fifth Avenue about 10:15 yesterday morning for a report of a student with a gun. When they got there, City Police say they found the student had left the school. Avis Huff staff told officers the student had been having a conflict with another student which resulted in the gun being on school property. City Police say they found the gun in the neighborhood where the school is located, but as of yesterday evening the student was still at large. They ask you call them if you have any information about the incident.
