Man killed last night when hit by car

Some more detail now on that car versus pedestrian accident on Route 50 by Farm and Fleet last night that took the life of the pedestrian. Bourbonnais Police say it was just before eight last night when they were called to the area for a man down. When they got there, they found the 56-year-old man had been crossing traffic when he was hit by a southbound car. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. The 44-year-old driver of the car that hit the man, stopped and said she was unsure of what she had hit. No tickets have been issued and no charges have been filed in the case. At this time, law enforcement say they’re treating it as a tragic accident. The crash continues to be under investigation. The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
