Perhaps overnight rains will help, but the latest map released Thursday by the US Drought Monitor has our entire listening area firmly in “moderate drought”. That includes the entirety of Kankakee, Ford, Iroquois, Livingston, Grundy and Will Counties, as well as Newton, Jasper and Benton Counties in northwest Indiana. 75-percent of Kendall County is described as being in “severe drought” by the latest report.
