Grundy County Arrests Two from Honduras with 3 Kilos of Fentanyl

A State police chase that began around 2 this morning on I-80 before troopers broke it off for safety reasons, resumed in Grundy County about 4 this morning near Kankakee Road and Rt. 17 when Grundy County Sheriff’s Deputies spotted, chased and flattened one of the tires on the vehicle with stop sticks.  The car then veered into a freshly cut corn field where a pit maneuver brought the vehicle to a stop.  Police say the two suspects, both from Honduras, then set the vehicle on fire and ran.  Both were taken into custody after a short foot chase. Even though the car was a complete loss, police say in the back of the vehicle survived the flames, it was there deputies located 3 kilos or 6.9 pounds of suspected Fentanyl.
