Weekend fatal at I-57

A crash on the on ramp to I-57 over the weekend took at least one persons life. In a short press release, Illinois State Police say it was just before 8:30 Saturday night when the crash, which they describe as only a “single unit fatal crash” happened. They do say the ramp had to be shut down for a time and finally reopened about 1:30 Sunday morning. We’ll have more details for you on this as they become available.
