Gemini Giant to Return

A dedication date has been announced for the rehabbed Gemini Giant statue.  Since the 1960’s the 28 foot tall Giant stood in front of a restaurant on Rt. 66 in Wilmington, but earlier this year the restaurant was sold and the new owners put the Giant up for auction.  The Joliet area historical society had the 275,000 dollar winning bid and have since had the giant rehabbed thanks to a 700,000 grant.  The giant’s new home will be on Historic Rt. 66 on the South Island in Wilmington.  The dedication of the statue is scheduled for November 30^th from 1 until 3pm.
