Kankakee Firefighters battle Sunday morning blaze

Kankakee City Fire Department personnel were called to a garage fire in the 600 block of West Jeffery Sunday morning. Reports say the call came in about 10 yesterday morning and when they got there firefighters reportedly found the fire had started outside the attached garage and had spread to the house. Kankakee Fire Chief Brian LaRoche says the fire was quickly put out, but not before it caused some 20-thousand-dollars worth of damage to the home and garage. No one was injured in the blaze, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
