A vehicle stopped by Kankakee police Tuesday night in the 100 block of North Chicago Ave. for expired registration, ended with a passenger under arrest for the unlawful use of a weapon. Officers searched the driver after detecting the scent of marijuana coming from the vehicle and found a baggie of pot in one of his pockets. Three others in the vehicle and a backpack belonging to a passenger identified as 24 year old Aavyon J. Pore were also searched. Inside the backpack police allegedly discovered a Glock handgun with a round in the chamber, a loaded magazine, a scale and additional bags of marijuana. Pore was taken to the county lockup for possessing.
