We have a couple of road closures to tell you about. The State Department of Transportation says Route 17 will be closed at the KB&S Railroad tracks on the east side of Kankakee starting Monday. IDOT says the crossing is expected to be closed for about a week. It’s suggested you use Grinnell Road, Route 50 and Eastgate Parkway as a detour
IDOT also plans to close the Canadian national Railroad crossing on St. George Road starting Monday. As of Monday, St. George Road will be closed between Route 45/52 and Route 50 to all, but local traffic. Work on that crossing is also expected to take about a week to complete.
