With Thanksgiving coming up Thursday, we’re all thinking about that big Thanksgiving meal. Dana James, Sanitarian with the Environmental Health Division of the Kankakee County Health Department says there are some things we need to keep in mind when it comes to food safety

James adds there’s a lot to think about when it comes to thawing your bird. While it’s probably too late to thaw your Thanksgiving turkey by just putting it in the fridge, James says there are still options

James says you should put the leftovers in the fridge within an hour of the meal, reheat your leftovers to an internal temperature of 165 degrees and get rid of any leftovers after about four days.
