A former Illinois football player is due in federal court next week.  Dana Howard was indicted last month on charges of fraud related to Paycheck Protection Program loans.  Prosecutors say Howard and a co-defendant applied for and received a PPP loan for more than one-point-four-million-dollars to help keep a construction company owned in East St. Louis operational and employees paid during the pandemic.  However, both are accused of using the large loan for their personal use and to the benefit of another business they owned.  Howard, played for Illinois from 1991-1994.  He was inducted into the Illinois Athletics Hall of Fame in 2018.
