The holiday season is officially underway in the Village of Bourbonnais. The Village held their annual tree lighting event last night at “The Grove” behind village hall. Mayor Paul Schore said events like the tree lighting are important to the Village.

Several hundred people were on hand last night for the tree lighting. Students from four Bourbonnais schools sang as part of the event. Local Eagle Scout candidate Alexis McCullough, who’s project is to put a Gold Star Family memorial in Marcott Park helped Mayor Schore light the tree.
