New law requires employers to post employee pay

Dec 17, 2024 | 5:49 AM

An Illinois state law taking effect next year will require employers to post salary and benefits information online. The Pay Transparency Law takes effect January 1st, 2025. Per the Illinois Department of Labor, all job postings made by employers with at least 15 employees will need to include pay scale and benefit info. Additionally, employers will be required to extend the same transparency to current employees regarding internal job postings. It’s all part of an amendment to the Illinois Equal Pay Act of 2003 that was contained in HB 3129, signed into law by Governor JB Pritzker in 2023.
