St Mary’s Sale Move Forward

The Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board this week gave final approval to the sale of nine Ascension Health care hospitals in Illinois to a California healthcare system, included in the sale is St. Mary’s in Kankakee. The Daily Journal reports St. Mary’s will be one of only two of the hospitals changing hands that will keep iits non-profit designation.  Prime Healthcare says it plans to invest 250 million dollars in capital improvement of the facilities.  The sale is expected to be completed next year.  St. Mary’s provides jobs for 750 area workers
