Two people were arrested on drug charges Wednesday when a Kankakee County Sheriff’s Deputy heading westbound on 4000 South Road at 14,000 East, spotted the driver of an eastbound vehicle not wearing his seatbelt. The deputy caught up with the vehicle and while speaking with the driver detected the scent of raw marijuana coming from the vehicle. During questioning police say 33 year old Blake D. Morefield of Watseka admitted to having the weed in his pocket along with an unused hypodermic needle. Also in the vehicle was 25 year old Elayna C. Alexander also of Watseka. She allegedly admitted to having three needles in her bra, one loaded with heroin the others with meth. Morefield told the deputy he had agreed to take her to Hopkin Park to buy the drugs which she then shared with Morefield. Both are facing multiple drug charges.
