Kankakee City Police report gun arrest

Kankakee City Police report an arrest following an incident where shots were fired in the city Friday afternoon. Reports say it was about 3:15 Friday afternoon when officers were called to the 15-hundred block of East Court Street for a report of shots fired. While on the way there, officers were told a man wearing a gray sweater, black leather jacked and carrying a backpack had fired the shots and a black Cadillac had been involved, but it had fled the scene. Officers say they found 58-year-old Terry L. Tynes of Kankakee, in the area of the shooting and stopped him to talk with him. A search of Tynes backpack allegedly turned up a firearm and surveillance footage from the area allegedly shows Tynes shooting during an altercation with a man driving a black Cadillac. Tynes was arrested by City Police on numerous drug and weapons charges.
