During this morning’s Kankakee County Board Criminal Justice Committee meeting, County Sheriff Mike Downey gave the committee an update on his department’s mental health pilot program with the State Department of Human Services
Downey said there’s a benefit for Kankakee County in the program
Downey added there’s another sheriff that’s shown some interest in starting a similar program in their county.
