District 111 Fired Fountain

Kankakee School District 111 has dismissed the district’s assistant superintendent of human resources.  Shemeka Fountain has been on paid leave ever since Superintendent Teresa Lance called for an investigation into her job performance last fall.  The final vote Monday was four to three. The Daily Journal reports Fountain has requested a hearing with the Illinois State Board of Education and claims she was not afforded due process by the district in the matter.
