Motel Fire in Wilmington This Morning

Wilmington Firefighters were called to the Super Shine Motel in the 100 block of Bridge Street about 12:40 this morning when smoke appeared in one of the rooms.  The fire was discovered in the attic of the single story hotel and was quickly extinguished.  The fire was electrical in nature and that power to the one story portion of the hotel had to be turned off.   The fire and loss of power displaced 8 residents. Most were able to find shelter elsewhere but three people and three dogs needed the assistance of Wilmington ESDA and the Red Cross to find temporary housing.
