Flood Warning Continues

That flood warning continues in effect for the Kankakee River at Momence. The National Weather Service issued the warning Monday after an ice jam began forming last week.   The US Geological Survey lists the river level at Momence at just over six feet. The latest report says there has been a malfunction with the water level monitoring equipment so the level hasn’t been updated since Tuesday. However, the National Weather Service says the river is expected to stay above flood stage for the next several days.
