A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday afternoon for the East River Walk project in the City of Kankakee. Kankakee Mayor Chris Curtis says the project has been a long time in coming
Curtis said the goal is that when the project is finished the City won’t owe anything on the project, and affirmed this is just the beginning
Curtis added it could be 25 to 30 years before the entire project is complete. The completion of the East River Walk, however, is expected by Thanksgiving of this year.
