Fire damages Kankakee home

No one was injured, but fire caused some 45-thousand-dollars in damage to a home on North Industrial in Kankakee last night. Kankakee Fire Chief Bryan LaRoche says firefighters were called to the home about 6:45 last night when the resident and their grandchildren noticed a fire in the kitchen. Chief LaRoche says the fire was quickly put out, but the resident was displaced by the blaze, which is under investigation.
