Jan 28, 2025 | 5:39 PM
A Lowell, Indiana man was arrested last night after allegedly dragging an officer with his vehicle then leading police on a chase exceeding 100 miles an hour.  It started with a routine traffic stop, but quickly escalated when the driver, identified as 36 year old Michael Correa, refused to get out of the vehicle.  Lowell police say the chase was on when Correa drove away from the stop with the officer hanging on to the vehicle.  The officer injured his hand in the encounter but was otherwise not hurt.  Correa jumped onto I-65 where speeds exceeded 100 miles an hour before he was stopped, fought with officers and was tazed.  Correa is facing multiple charges including battery with a deadly weapon and of causing bodily injury using a vehicle to a law enforcement officer.
