Veronda’s Music Village, which first opened its doors over 75 years ago, is shutting down for good. Richard Veronda started making music on West Court Street in 1949. The business is now run by his sons, Bill and Nick Veronda. The two say in the Daily Journal that they have no firm closing date yet, but a liquidation sale is planned for next month at the store’s current location on Kennedy Drive just south of Walgreens. The two hope to take it easy now, play more golf and maybe do some traveling. The brothers say competition from online shopping, the pandemic and no family interested in continuing the business, led them to decide to just close up.
