Will Co. Releases Dresen Warm Water Into the Kankakee to Prevent Ice Jam

While an ice jam on the Kankakee River in the Momence area is keeping the river just under flood stage, to the north the Will County Emergency Management Agency today plans to open one of three siphons of warm water from the Dresden cooling lake and pump it into the Kankakee River.  The move is being taken in the anticipation of the possible formation of an ice jam on the north end of the river.
