The National Weather Service has issued a “Winter Weather Advisory” for us that goes into effect at nine this morning and runs through three tomorrow morning. The weather service says we can expect snowfall, heavy at times, accumulating somewhere between two and four inches before mixing with and changing over to freezing drizzle later this evening. Roads will be slippery today and this evening, so make sure you slow down and leave extra space between yourself and that car in front of you.
Additionally, the weather service says there is a risk for river ice formation and ice jams increasing late this week through next week. They say favorable conditions for river ice development and possible ice jams are expected beginning Friday and continuing into the weekend. Those living near the river or in other low-lying areas need to be on the lookout for rising waters.
