City Police report drug arrest

A traffic stop Tuesday morning netted Kankakee City Police a drug arrest. According to reports, it was just after 11 yesterday morning when officers stopped the pick-up driven by 43-year-old Jose D. Melendez-Cruz for not having a front license plate. Reports say Cruz was found to be on parole and a search of Cruz reportedly turned up some drug paraphernalia and a baggie of suspected meth. A search of the truck allegedly turned up some live ammunition. Cruz was arrested by City Police on drug charges.
