Sheriff’s Department report arrest

Kankakee County Sheriff’s Police report a second arrest in connection with a shooting in Limestone late last month. 21-year-old Cortez M Baines of Kankakee was arrested as part of a traffic stop just before 2 Tuesday afternoon. Baines is the second person arrested in connection with the January 27th shooting in Limestone that sent a man to the hospital with serious injuries. Baines was taken into custody, charged with attempted murder, home invasion and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. He’s the second man charged in connection to the attack – 24-year-old Gregory R. Tuggle of Manteno had previously been arrested in connection with the shooting. Deputies say they continue to investigate the shooting.
