Woman Stabbed Multiple Times in Monee

A bystander stepped in to stop a violent attack in Monee yesterday. Around 6 PM were called to Ridgeland Avenue near Monee Manhattan Road about a woman lying in a ditch, bleeding. They found a 48-year-old Schaumburg woman stabbed multiple times, with a 57-year-old man, Lenear Harris from Beach Park, Illinois, being held by another man. Investigators say an argument turned physical while driving. When the woman tried to escape, Harris allegedly chased her into the ditch and attacked her with scissors. That’s when a 32-year-old Lansing man intervened, tackling Harris until police arrived. The victim’s injuries aren’t life-threatening, and she’s recovering in the hospital. Harris now faces charges including aggravated domestic battery. The victim and police are thanking the good Samaritan for his quick actions, which likely prevented a worse outcome.
