Police officer hurt in Grant Park fire

Grant Park Firefighters were called to a burning home near 17,600 East and 10,500 North Roads about 1:30 Monday afternoon.  Grant Park Police were the first on the scene and the officer was slightly injured getting the elderly resident out of the home. In a Facebook Post, Grant Park Police say their officer suffered smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene. It was reported the home was heavily involved with flames when firefighters arrived and there was a large brush fire reported in the area as well.
