Ascension St. Mary hospital named patient safety award winner

Healthgrades is out with its 2025 Patient Safety Excellence Award winners among hospitals across the US. This year’s recipients include 442 hospitals from 40 states and represent the top 10% of hospitals in the nation for patient safety and a Kankakee hospital has made the list. For the second year in a row, Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital appears on the list. St. Mary’s has also been a winner of the Healthgrades Pulmonary Care Excellence award. Healthgrades says their awards are based on 14 patient safety indicators as measured by the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review file and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality’s Patient Safety Indicators Technical Specifications. St. Mary’s is one of only 15 hospitals state-wide to win the Healthgrades award.
