Kankakee Traffic Stop Ends in DUI and Drug Arrest

A traffic stop on East Court Street around midnight Tuesday ended with a DUI arrest.  City police say an officer spotted a maroon Pontiac Grand Prix veer over a curb and onto the sidewalk before making a reckless turn. The driver, 42-year-old Anthony Earl Thomas has allegedly admitted to drinking at a friend’s house and driving on a revoked license. During the arrest, officers found nearly 2 grams of suspected crack cocaine in his jacket, more was discovered at the jail. Thomas now faces charges of DUI, driving on a revoked license, and possession.
