Kankakee City Police make gun arrest

A traffic stop Sunday afternoon netted Kankakee City Police a gun arrest. According to reports, it was just before 4:30 Sunday afternoon when officers stopped a car driven by 27-year-old Debraun Lewis-Mayo for a traffic violation. A check found Lewis-Mayo to be driving on a revoked license and without proper insurance. A check of the car turned up a loaded nine millimeter handgun. Lewis-Mayo was arrested by City Police on several charges, including being a felon in possession of a handgun.
