Momence voters to decide tax increase for fire services

Election Day is a little under a week away. There will be races decided for Mayors, Aldermen, Village Trustees and school board members, just to name a few. In Momence, voters will decide the fate of a tax referendum for the Momence Fire Protection District. Fire Protection District Chief Jim Spoon

Spoon says the overall goal is to add two ambulances into the department so Momence Fire can handle their own ambulance calls and not rely on other ambulance services. Spoon said Momence voters got a document to help calculate what the increase would mean to taxpayers

Election day is Tuesday, April 1st.
